How you choose to heat your home is a big decision. It affects many areas of your life––primarily your finances and health. And chances are you didn’t even choose the existing furnace in your own home. The original owner did. His or her needs and lifestyle may have been very different from yours, so the furnace you currently have may not even be addressing your needs. It may be time to upgrade your furnace due to age or if you would prefer something with a higher efficiency. Whatever the reason, our qualified technicians at Ben's Heating & Air Conditioning are here to evaluate your home and make sure to guide you toward the right furnace for your needs.
A New Gas Furnace Makes All the Difference
As mentioned above, your current needs for a gas furnace may be different than the needs at the time of the furnace’s purchase. Whether someone else made the purchase or your needs have simply changed, there are important considerations to make when deciding on a new gas furnace for your home. These considerations can make all the difference to your home’s comfort level. Choosing to work with our professionals at Ben's Heating & Air Conditioning will help you to include these factors when choosing your new furnace:
- Efficiency –– If your current furnace is older than ten years old, even if it’s still working, chances are it ’s not presenting you with the highest efficiency. Upgrading to a higher-efficiency furnace can offer you savings in your energy bills as well as a more comfortable home.
- Correct Size –– Evaluating your home’s size and needs plays directly into selecting the appropriately sized gas furnace for your home. Your home’s layout may be different now than it was when your existing furnace was purchased. Installing either a too-small or too-large furnace in your home won’t offer you the energy savings or the comfort you’re expecting with a new furnace. It’s critical that the correct size of the equipment and ductwork be installed for your satisfaction.
- Proper Ventilation –– Your home’s ductwork may deteriorate over time, or it may not have been installed correctly in the first place. It’s imperative your ductwork is properly sealed and vented. Without this important step, you may be losing much of your heating-and-cooling energy. Also, your indoor air quality (IAQ) may not be as high as you would like. A thorough evaluation may be in order at this time as well.
- Health Needs –– If your existing gas furnace isn’t operating at its highest efficiency or your HVAC ductwork needs replacing or repairing, your health could be at risk. This is especially true if someone in your home is living with allergies, asthma, a chronic illness, or pets. IAQ is lower than our outdoor air these days. Having the right furnace goes a long way in helping in this area.
- Cost Evaluation –– Though you may think that keeping your existing furnace costs less than upgrading/replacing to a new one, you could be mistaken. Your operating costs could be considerably higher due to your furnace’s low efficiency. Investing in a new high-efficiency gas furnace will reward you over time with lower energy bills and repair bills. Typically, homeowners recoup their costs over the first five years or so.

Gas Furnace Maintenance in Tualatin, OR 97062
“We have used Ben's services twice now – once to service our air conditioning unit and recently to service our gas furnace. Each time they were nice and prompt on the phone, arrived during the scheduled time (see note below) and did the necessary maintenance needed, nothing more. Never once did they try to upsell us or say we needed something we didn't. The service technicians are top notch! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
The only negative thing I can mention (and it's not really that bad) is that they initially tell you over the phone a 4 hr window, but then they follow that up with an email which states a specific one hour window. So I thought our service would be during the one hr window in the email, but they actually came much earlier than that. So just a side note that it would be great if they could get their emails to more accurately reflect the estimated time of arrival.”

Gas Furnace Replacement in Tigard, OR 97224
“Chris and Bruce were friendly and professional from start to finish. They talked me through their plan to remove the old furnace with the new one. They were very careful navigating the furnace units in and our of my house. Chris and Bruce also noticed that my condensate piping was at an odd angle, so they went into the crawl space to inspect and fix the issue with that piping, which was very much appreciated. They then walked me through the installation and features of the new furnace. They cleaned up the work area and off to the next future satisfied customer. I would highly recommend Ben's Heating & Air Conditioning.”

“Justin arrived on time with a big smile on his face so I knew we had a winner right from the start! He got right in and did an annual check on our gas furnace with such skill and efficiency that he was done and handing me the paper to sign before I could hardly turn around! I double checked with him by asking if he had checked everything and he assured me he had and all was well and running properly! I am used to service people spending more time sorting tools and poking around to accomplish the same thing Justin did in a few minutes. This guy is a gem! Don't let him get away from you because he is saving you time and money with his efficient and quick service. Way to go, Justin!”

Gas Furnace Installation in Portland, OR 97213
“Mike L and Zach F installed a new gas furnace in our basement a couple of weeks ago. They did a phenomenal job and we couldn't be happier! It was in the middle of a major house remodel and we are still living in the house so there were a lot of moving pieces for them to work around. I was so impressed with their manner and work ethic. They were both very polite and willing to work with me on the exact location of the unit. There were few days where Mike was here by himself and in order to make sure I was happy with the placement, he moved the unit 3 times for me, duct work and all. I know those were long days for him but he never complained. And both he and Zach worked to make sure the location of the new vents would work for us in the new remodeled space. The unit works beautifully! Lastly… we had an incident at the end of a long work day where someone had dumped buckets of wood stain in our dumpster outside and it had spilled all over the ground. Mike and Zach were getting ready to leave for the day when we noticed it but immediately grabbed supplies out of their van and started cleaning it up. I cannot thank them enough for that kindness. I would definitely recommend Ben's Heating and Air Conditioning and Mike L and Zach F as installers anytime. Thank you for a great experience!”

Gas Furnace Repair in Portland, OR 97229
“Customer service was exceptional, courteous and professional. Jennifer R. was very good at setting up a field service check by a technician to trouble shoot an issue with our 17 year old Trane gas furnace. The response time was timely and ahead of the original estimated time of arrival. We received prompt text and email notifications. The technician Aaron B. was knowledgeable and his trouble shooting of our furnace issue was thorough and pinpointed the problem. There was no pressure to immediately remedy the situation as the current weather conditions were mild enough to allow us to make some important decisions on whether to just replace the failing furnace part or upgrade to a newer more efficient furnace model based on the age of the unit we now have which is nearing the end of its performance life.”
